Creating the perfect custom look on a jailbroken iPhone can involve several different tweaks and themes. For those looking to replace the stock battery icon on the iOS 7 status bar, the tweak Alkaline provides many add-on options. Applying different battery icons once they're installed does not require WinterBoard, just a change to the Alkaline settings and a respring.

To start theming the iOS battery icon, install the free tweak Alkaline from Cydia. Alkaline comes with three included themes: Bolus, Spots, and Habesha. Alkaline will add its own section under Settings where battery themes can be applied. To change the battery theme, navigate to Settings -> Alkaline -> Theme and select from the list of installed themes, then tap the Respring button.

After optimizing efficiency, one of the major reasons that people jailbreak their iPhones for is to tweak the aesthetics of the interface and make their phone unique in appearance. The new and improved jailbreak tweak Athena 2 is a powerful tool to this end. There are a lot of tweaks out there that let you modify the overall appearance of your interface; this one lets you do that, but also lets you customize the individual icons.

Once you have downloaded Athena 2 from Cydia's BigBoss repository you can head to Settings where you'll find an Athena 2 pane. Inside you will find several options:

Photo Booth is a fun way to snap photos using the Mac iSight camera for OS X users. Several filter effects applied in real time have given countless photos the Photo Booth look. Now iPhone owners with jailbroken devices can install a port of Photo Booth to get these effects on the go.

Once installed, the Photo Booth app icon is added to the home screen. Opening the app will present nine preview thumbnails updated in real time for each effect. The standards Thermal Camera, Mirror, X-Ray, Kaleidoscope, Light Tunnel, Squeeze, Twirl and Stretch surround a center panel dubbed Normal with no effect applied. Simply tap the effect of your choice to start the Photo Booth camera.

You don't need to be a photography expert to know that camera shake can ruin a photo. Avoiding camera shake can be difficult, whether trying to capture intricate detail in artwork or simply trying to capture an image of text that isn't too blurry to read later. The iPhone is small enough and light enough that just a slight push on the volume button or even the virtual shutter button can ruin a photo. The new jailbreak tweak ProximityCam, from developer PoomSmart, offers a practical solution to the problem.

ProximityCam allows you to use the iPhone's proximity sensor (the sensor that turns the screen off when you hold it up to your ear in order to save power and avoid inadvertent input) to take photographs. With ProximityCam installed you simply wave your finger in front of the sensor to take a picture with the Camera app. This

Quick access to the dictionary, thesaurus and encyclopedia is now possible directly from the iOS Control Center. Developer ravirajm has updated the original Define widget, which can be installed from Cydia on jailbroken devices. Define for iOS 7 uses CCLoader to add slick, convenient reference access to the Control Center.

Once installed, Define must be moved to the Enabled Sections in CCLoader. This will add a Dictionary shortcut to Control Center, which can be placed anywhere on the panel. When tapped, a dialog box pops up with the enabled references listed under a text box. Enter the word or term and select Dictionary, Wikipedia or Thesaurus.
