When it comes to iOS security updates, the answer is always to install the latest software as soon as possible. iOS 14.8 is no different, however the launch of iOS 15 is only days away. While iOS 14.8 patches a serious iPhone vulnerability, the same problem is also fixed in iOS 15. iPhone owners currently running iOS 14 have two choices when it comes to dealing with this security threat.

Apple has redesigned Safari in the latest iteration of iOS. The most noticeable change since iOS 15 was moving the address/search bar to the bottom of the iPhone display. Instead of viewing a single tab, Apple has created grouped tabs controlled from the new address bar. Fortunately for fans of the classic arrangement there is an option to move the address bar back to its normal location at the top of the screen.

Apple has redesigned Safari with a new tab bar. This address/search bar appears at the bottom of the iPhone screen by default. Many users find this takes some getting used to, as the address bar has always been located at the top of the display. For anyone not enjoying the new setup, Safari makes it possible to bring back the old configuration.
Moving the address bar back to its classic location at the top of the screen can be accomplished two different ways. Either navigate through Settings or make the change directly in Safari on iOS 15 or later.

Battery management features on iOS have improved greatly over the past few years. iPhones manage their own charging to optimize battery life, sometimes delaying a full charge based on usage patterns. The iPhone may display a battery percentage while charging, however there's no audible alert when charging has completed. For anyone interested in knowing exactly when their device has finished charging, Apple offers the Shortcuts app.

iPhone speaker suddenly not working? A small percentage of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models may experience a receiver module failure, leading to sound not working during phone calls. These "no sound" issues are covered under a special service program launched by Apple this summer. iPhone Pro Max and iPhone mini models are not affected by the problem.
