Auto-fill can be convenient when filling out forms in the Safari web browser. Especially on the iPhone or iPad, when fumbling with credit cards or typing long addresses takes too much time. Fields will automatically be completed by iOS using stored contact information or saved credit cards. But there are times when the wrong information gets used, or when auto-fill gets in the way instead of helping.

Apple device users can enjoy web browser extensions on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Extensions bring added functionality directly to Safari in iOS 15 and later. The App Store offers many free and paid options for third-party extensions to make Safari more helpful. In this case, the extension Noir - Dark Mode for Safari ($2.99) is installed and configured. This extension brings dark mode, which is a black background and white text to any website.

Apple iCloud+ offers increased privacy while browsing with Safari on iPhone and iPad. Device owners can enable iCloud Private Relay at any time, as it comes packaged free with the purchase of iCloud storage. This means anyone with an iCloud storage subscription can easily hide their IP address and web traffic. Not only does iCloud Private Relay hide this information from your ISP and the sites you visit, but Apple can't even see your activity.

Apple continues to add customization options to its mobile devices, from home screen widgets to font keyboards. Wallpaper backgrounds for the home and lock screens may be one of the earliest places where iOS allowed users to create a unique look. Now Safari offers the option for a custom background behind the new tab screen.
